Tickets to slide

• I SAW a poor driver slide over the black ice into a very expensive-looking BMW, on the corner of our street.
Ghastly sound!
Fearing my little car might be next, I found a grit box and with my bucket and spade, had a lovely time being public-spirited. It did make me wonder how Camden spends the, what?, £20 or £30 million it makes from parking tickets. Not on making our roads or pavements safe, I suppose. Funny old world.
