• HAS anyone else found the road junction at Angel, where City Road and Pentonville Road among others meet, very dangerous for pedestrians?
If you come up from St John Street to cross to the Co-op Bank when the green man is on, traffic from St John Street has a green traffic light at the same time. Although an “ahead only” arrow below the traffic lights bans left turns, cars and other vehicles do illegally turn left, straight into pedestrians crossing the road on their green man.
This happens so often and is quite frightening for pedestrians.
Further down City Road at another set of traffic lights traffic stops over the pedestrian crossing.
If pedestrians are able to see the green man over the cars they then take their life in their hands as the traffic moves when lights change further down the road.
This often means you cannot cross the road.
I wonder if the traffic department can do anything to help pedestrians and whether other pedestrians have found this junction a dangerous place?
