• I CALLED an ambulance last Thursday as I was in extreme pain.
I am a 72-year-old disabled man, and I had to wait for 90 minutes before it arrived.
I was taken to Whittington Hospital, where I was treated for the problem.
I eventually fell asleep on a side bed and was abruptly woken up at 3.30am for someone to take me home.
I explained that my carer wouldn’t arrive until 7.30am and I couldn’t phone her in the middle of the night, but they sent me home regardless.
I know there’s a shortage of beds, but chucking old people out in the middle of the night is outrageous.
