Led astray by owl?

Published: 10 August, 2012

• YOUR item about the forthcoming operatic production of The Owl and the  Pussycat brings back a treasured memory (School pays tribute to Owl and Pussycat poet, July 20).

As a student in 1960s Liverpool, I once saw a delightful graffiti on a wall. It went as follows:

The Owl and the
Pussycat went to sea

In a beautiful pea
green boat.
They took some money,
plenty of money.
The police are
appealing for witnesses.

Yours nonsensically,

TIM BLEACH
