Do politicians expect a Labour landslide next time?

Published: 13 July, 2012

• LIB Dem group leader Terry Stacy wisely points out that some politicians are using Islington as a springboard to challenge for parliamentary seats elsewhere in the country (‘Ambitious’ Labour politicians attacked, July 6)

I suspect their timing is right as, with 88 per cent of the cuts yet to come from the Con-Dems, the next election will see a Labour landside as voters will rightly revolt at the ballot box.

He also points out that some of these people have not contributed much, if anything, to local politics and that this is bad for the people of Islington.

But surely, given their contribution to Islington, the sooner they leave the better. He should be organising a whip-round to make sure they have the train fare.
