• ONE Housing Group’s Central Street development is intended to help people keen to buy their first property, but find themselves priced out of the London market, by offering shared ownership.
This allows people to work towards buying a property at a price significantly lower than full market value.
The three-bed £700,000 property identified in your article is priced at £695,000 through shared ownership.
For a three-bed property, the cost would begin at £850,000.
The shared ownership scheme allows for homes of a high-quality specification to be purchased more affordably.
The penthouse does not sit in a private garden, but rather has access to communal gardens, which can be enjoyed by all Central Street residents.
It is important to note that, contrary to your article, there are no council rental properties at Central Street.
All homes are owned and managed by One Housing Group.
We would also challenge the assertion that the homes are “a little small”, as all homes meet or exceed measurement specifications outlined by the Homes and Communities Agency. We are a responsible landlord that prides itself on designing, building and managing high-quality homes. Despite challenging economic times, we continue to provide new homes for people across the spectrum.
