Let’s pick our Lords

• THE Lords should be elected, with election by a national list, the list consisting of all parties contesting 10 per cent or more of the seats for the Commons.

As this would give too much power to political parties, let us add genuine people’s peers.

Let us each write in the name of someone we deem worthy of a place in the Lords and let anyone getting over 100,000 be offered a term there.
