Saved: our lovely trees

Published: 9 March, 2012

• As a resident of Islington for 44 years I have often organised the planting of street trees and park roses in an effort to make what was a  drab and leafless area come to life.

I was therefore thrilled to receive the news that the beautiful plane trees recently under threat in the centre of Richmond Crescent, Barnsbury, have been saved.

I very much hope this is now the end of the matter.
