• CAMDEN and Islington NHS Foundation Trust is not involved with the commissioning or provision of the Big White Wall (£400k grant for project that supports armed services staff who have been on frontline, May 18). We are not a commissioning authority. We are a provider of mental health and substance misuse services on behalf of local commissioners such as NHS Camden and NHS Islington.
The trust does not have to make more than £20million savings this year, as your article states, but we do need to make this over three years. We are delivering a programme of service transformation, which commenced in 2010-11.
We are doing this in a way as to provide more daytime activities, more face-to-face support and more of the treatments which are proven to work, to help people who use our services to recover.
As the lead London provider of mental health services for veterans, we look forward to working with the Big White Wall website in helping to meet the needs of this group of people.
