LETTERS: Give £84m fine to the NHS

Published: 6 January, 2016

• THE government recently imposed  a fine of around £84million on Pfizer for overcharging the NHS.

It seems to me it would be appropriate that this money should be returned to the NHS, which was the loser, and not to the Treasury, which is already depriving this service of much-needed funding.

It’s a similar mentality that is depriving local authorities of vast sums of money while suggesting that councils take on extra responsibilities for social care.
