SPEEDSTER Devon Robins was in outstanding form at the weekend as she collected the cup for best female junior and open swimmer at the Middlesex Winter Championships.
The triumphant 16-year-old won seven gold medals, including a clean sweep in the butterfly where she was victorious in the 50m, 100m and 200m with respective times of 29.04 seconds, 1.03.53s and 2.20.85s. The Camden Swiss Cottage swimmer also touched home first in her 200m, 400m and 800m freestyle events, as well as grabbing gold in the 400m individual medley.
Devon, who also won a silver medal along the way, topped off a superb weekend with five of her swims gaining national qualifying times.
Overall a team of 47 Camden Swiss Cottage swimmers competed at the meet, reaching 50 finals and bagging 24 medals and the cup for best female team.
Another star performer was Edward Graham, who topped the podium in the 800m and the 1500m freestyle and the 400m individual medley.
Other Camden swimmers picking up golds were Scott Broadis, Tamsin McKinnon and Jessica Hobbs.
Afterwards head coach Dave Hobbs said: “Overall I’m very pleased with how the team performed. The athletes have had a great start to the season, on which they can now build on ahead of the Middlesex age and youth events in February and March.”
