Who’s a pretty parrot fish then? Forget turkey, try this 3ft treat

Paul Christodoulou and his father Andreas with the parrot fish.

MEET Pretty Polly, the parrot fish who has been making waves at Paul Christodoulou’s fishmonger’s shop in Holloway this week.
At three-and-a-half feet and weighing 18-20 kilos, the grey fish has been flown in from the Maldives for Christmas. Parrot fish have soft white flesh with a slightly sweet taste.
Importer Paul also had on display a sword- fish weighing 20 kilos and measuring five feet in length at his Ocean Wave shop in Seven Sisters Road, close to Hornsey Road. Paul said: “The two big fish will probably be sold to a restaurant and end up on the Christmas Day dining table. Not everyone eats turkey at Christmas.”
