POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died in an accident in Seven Sisters Road, Holloway, close to the junction with Hornsey Road.
The man in his early 40s – who was thought to be training to drive a taxi – is believed to have tried to avoid a pedestrian in the road when his motorbike hit the kerb and he was flung off at around noon yesterday (Thursday).
The pedestrian escaped without injury.
Several shoppers applied mouth and heart resuscitation on the spot but the motorcyclist, who was rushed to hospital in a helicopter ambulance, was pronounced dead a short while later.
The victim is thought to have lived at one time on the Andover estate Finsbury Park but now lived at King’s Cross.
Seven Sisters Road was closed to traffic between Holloway Road and Hornsey Road for almost six hours.
