ISLINGTON’S answer to Banksy – the graffiti artist Bambi – made a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance in Camden last week.
The tribute to the late singer Amy Winehouse was spray-painted on a stretch of Camden Road and finished with Bambi’s trademark moniker. But within days, council graffiti teams had removed it “to provide a cleaner and safer environment”.
Although Bambi’s works are increasingly commonplace on the walls of London, they do not yet enjoy the privileged status of her Bristol rival.
Anastasia Serovia, 25, who saw the work soon after it appeared, said: “The picture is so cool. It’s very detailed and I hope Camden Council don’t get rid of it.”

Bambi Amy winehouse
It is absolutely absurd for the council to have removed this, as first of all this was on private property thus an intrusion of private rights and secondly it is in line and marks a place and time in history.
Shame on you Camden Council and you will see soon why!
