MP Jeremy Corbyn: Halt Bahrain Grand Prix

ISLINGTON North MP Jeremy Corbyn has launched a cross-party campaign in the Commons for this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix to be halted over claims of human rights abuses.

The Labour MP points out that a trial is continuing of 52 medical professionals who tried to help victims of a crackdown on protests.

“To go ahead at present risks sending the wrong signal at a time when the authorities in Bahrain should be focused on delivering real reform,” he said.
