THE club was once known as “Royal Arsenal” so the Duchess of Cornwall must have felt right at home at the Emirates Stadium last Thursday.
Camilla hooked up with Arsenal winger Theo Walcott to meet Islington primary pupils as part of a campaign to get more children reading.
Eighty children from Pakeman, Rotherfield and Pooles Park primary schools and The Bridge Academy joined the Arsenal star and Camilla for the launch of the scheme.
The Premier League Reading Stars project gets top footballers to recommend their favourite books to primary and secondary pupils, creating a unique reading list.
Theo, who has written his own series of children’s books, said: “It was great to meet the Duchess of Cornwall.
She made me feel very comfortable and was very relaxed. She even asked how the bump on my head was.”
