FORGET Notting Hill carnival... primary school children danced and sang as they wound their way through Upper Holloway on Wednesday morning.

Pupils from St John’s Church of England school, in Pemberton Gardens, dressed in hand-made costumes for a carnival procession watched by smiling passers-by.

The 280 children and 40 teachers and parents swayed to Caribbean rhythms provided by Neil Macey, who pushed a mobile music player along on wheels.

Teacher Rosina Knight said the rain held off for the procession and there was even a glimmer of sun. “It was a great event and the children really enjoyed themselves,” she said.
