TWO masked robbers who targeted betting shops and terrorised “vulnerable staff” into handing over takings have been jailed for eight years each by Old Bailey judge Anthony Morris, QC.

Scotland Yard Flying Squad detectives linked the armed men to four raids on the same Coral premises in Islington’s Southgate Road and others in Stoke Newington and Hackney.

Jason Chin, 40, and John Crick, 38, warned staff and customers not to resist as they grabbed banknotes from tills. They escaped with just over £2,000 and left victims traumatised, said the judge.

The men, both from the Caledonian Road area, admitted robbery and firearms offences.
