Lift off – New youth ‘hub’ launched in White Lion Street

ACROBATS from Archway theatre group Scarabeus scaled the walls of the former White Lion Youth Centre at the weekend to help mark its transformation into a state-of-the-art youth “hub”.
The Lift, in White Lion Street, Angel, has a gym, professional kitchen, dance and exercise studios, café and a roof garden. Users will be able to access sexual health advice, counselling, internet access and careers advice. The weekend’s event included free dance classes and circus skills workshops with Funk da Cirque.
Councillor Richard Watts, the Town Hall’s head of youth services, said: “Lift offers young people the chance to try lots of classes and activities in an inspiring new building with first-rate facilities.”
