FEARS that Highbury Vale Police Station has been put on the market by mayor of London Boris Johnson have been raised following his admission that police officers based there will be moved to Holloway Fire Station

His admission came in an answer to a written question from Lib Dem London Authority member Caroline Pidgeon last week.

Quizzed about police stations in Islington and Highbury Vale – in particular the station in Blackstock Road – he said: “As part of the broader collaborative approach I am taking to shared services, facilities to accommodate the four Safer Neighbourhood Teams based at Highbury Vale will in the future be provided at Holloway Fire Station. These facilities will be ready for occupation in the early autumn.”

A spokeswoman for the Mayor of London said no decision had been made.

There are no safer neighbourhood teams based at highbury vale? Maybe facts should be checked before releasing statements?
