Towpath etiquette

THE Canal and River Trust – the new name for British Waterways – launched a towpath code on Tuesday in the Look Mum No Hands bike shop-cum-coffee shop in Old Street to try to defuse rows between cyclists and pedestrians.

Its 10 points say that pedestrians have right of way and cyclists and joggers should go slow. Other pointers include not wearing headphones.
