Warning that speed curbs are causing crashes in Drayton Park

OPPOSITION Lib Dem councillors have called on the Town Hall to rethink urgently the width restriction installed just weeks ago in Drayton Park, Highbury.

Speed reduction measures, including a ‘pinch point’ by the junction with Whistler Street, have been fitted.

But Lib Dem councillor Julie Horten said: “Every day we see more evidence that the traffic installation is a mistake. I know of two accidents which involved cars being damaged and towed away. Luckily, nobody has been hurt so far. Drivers and cyclists are confused and are taking dangerous measures to avoid more accidents.”
