Barges at City Road Basin for bank holiday

SIX barges providing everything from sandwiches to books, art and vintage clothes will be plying their trade at City Road Basin in Angel over the bank holiday weekend.

The floating barges will be open to towpath walkers down from City Lock from noon to 6pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Lorraine Fox, who runs the sandwich barge, said it was a new idea which should be popular. She added: “A lot of people use the towpath at the weekend and we are providing hopefully something of interest.”
