AN outfit inspired by the designs of cyclist Deep Lee was displayed at a special catwalk fashion show at her former college.
Ms Lee, 24, was killed on October 3 last year at the junction of York Way and Gray’s Inn Road in King’s Cross on her first day back at Central St Martin’s College after the summer holidays.
Seven months after the collision, the menswear fashion student was included in a graduation day ceremony. Around 200 students attended the colourful event on Monday at the King’s Cross campus.
Her boyfriend, Kenji Hirasawa, said of the event: “It was great for Deep’s people and me. Her creation is very minimal and solid, though her illustration is unique. This is the most difficult part to understand as friends set about making up her collection.”
Deep Lee – which literally means deep lake – changed her name to reflect a life philosophy that inspired her fashion designs. Her suit-coat design was displayed on the catwalk to a musical backdrop of a tap releasing drops of water.
Mr Hirasawa said he would continue to campaign to make the junction safer where she was hit by a heavy goods vehicle.
