Did you know chef Jean-Christophe Novelli had a singing daughter? Christina Novelli, who has supported Ndubz and Sugababes, headlines Barfly next week (September 11) thanks to two Camden schoolgirls turned promoters determined to make as much money as they can for charity.

Haverstock pupils Becs Christofides and Holly St-George McKenzie recently held a highly successful night at Barfly in aid of Leukemia charity Leuka, managing to convince Finley Quaye to join their line-up. Such was the popularity of the event that they’re doing it again for the same charity, featuring Christina Novelli, acoustic singer Simeon, who went to school with the girls, acoustic artist LA, The Ivory and FC20. Sounds like a good one, and the headliner hasn’t even been announced yet.

• Hip-hop nostalgia alert: Public Enemy perform classic album Fear Of A Black Planet in full at HMV Forum on September 8.
