LEAGUE leaders Angel Islington made it six wins out of six on Friday after dispatching Westway 2-0 at Market Road.
Jack Cruise opened the scoring in spectacular style as he skipped past the defence and fired home with his weaker left foot.
Keeper Connor O’Malley played his part in the victory as he made a great last-ditch tackle to keep the score at 1-0 going in at the break.
Sid Taylor sealed the win late on, leaving Angel seven points clear of title rivals Islington Admiral Youth at the top of the table.
Under-12s A
LEAGUE leaders Isledon Wolves salvaged an unlikely point against Futebol De Salao on Friday in a game where they were always second best.
FDS took the game to Wolves from the kick-off and were only kept at bay in the first half thanks to some fine goalkeeping from Logan Rose and the woodwork, which was struck no fewer than three times.
Rose could do little to stop the opening goal as he was beaten by a powerful free-kick, giving FDS a lead they were unlucky not to add to as the crossbar and the post again came to Isledon’s rescue.
Making the most of their good fortune, Wolves earned a 1-1 draw late on when Bradley Carrete added the finishing touches to a neat passing move.
