Football: Camden & Islington Midweek Youth League Recap

Under-9s A Division

CAMERON Saunders scored a late equaliser as league leaders Lyndhurst battled back to snatch a point against Regent’s Park on Friday.
The draw leaves Lyndhurst two points clear of title rivals Primrose Hill, who have a game in hand, and four points clear of The Heath, who have two games in hand.

Under-9s B

HIGH-FLYING Angel Islington made it five wins out of five on Friday with a clinical 2-0 victory over ‘A’ Class.
Drew Durnan opened the scoring when he smashed a free-kick into the top corner, before Julian Sarmiento added a second with an excellent shot on the turn. 
Jack Ewens and Alex Gibson were fantastic in defence for Angel, who have yet to concede a goal in a winning run that has left them five points clear at the top.

Under-10s B

TABLE-toppers Isledon Wolves fought back from a goal down to overcome a resilient Regent’s Park side on Friday.
Goals from Lewis Christie and Kaiyl Sekera-Campbell saw Wolves turn the game around to net a 2-1 victory and move four points clear of their rivals.

Under-13s A

CHAPEL Boys picked up a much-needed three points on Tuesday with a 3-0 victory over Islington Admiral Youth.
Captain George Osborn fired home from the edge of the area to open the scoring, before Matthew O’Hara doubled the lead from close range.
Midfielder Jason Rice wrapped up the win with a screamer from the halfway line.

Under-14s

IT truly was a Friday the 13th for Chapel Boys as they went down 10-0 against joint league leaders Isledon Wolves.
Sharpshooter Alfie Costello highlighted Wolves’ title credentials  with a four-goal supershow, while Jourdi Massueme and Zayn Bruce hit two each.
Liam Bristow and Jermaine Owusu also waded in with goals as Isledon stayed level on points with Futebol De Salao.
